Getting Started with Sully Booking

Welcome to Sully Booking — the all-in-one reservation system built for independent restaurants and pubs across the UK & Ireland. This guide walks you through everything you need to go live and start accepting bookings.

1. Create Your Account

Head to sullybooking.com and click Get Started. Enter your name, email, and a password. You'll be taken straight to your dashboard — no credit card required to explore the demo first.

If you'd like to try things out before committing, hit Try Demo on the homepage. You'll get a fully loaded demo restaurant with sample bookings, tables, and settings so you can see exactly how everything works.

2. Complete Your Venue Profile

Once signed up, the Getting Started checklist on your dashboard guides you through setup. First up: your venue profile.

Go to Venues in the left sidebar and fill in:

  • Restaurant name — this appears on your booking widget and confirmation emails
  • Address & phone number — so guests know where to find you
  • Description — a short blurb that appears on your public booking page

3. Set Your Opening Hours

Still in Venues, scroll down to Opening Hours. Set the days and times your restaurant accepts bookings. You can configure different hours for each day of the week, and even set split sessions (e.g. lunch 12:00–14:30, dinner 17:30–22:00).

Sully automatically generates 15-minute time slots based on your hours. If you're closed on Mondays, just toggle that day off — no slots will appear for guests.

4. Add Your Tables

Head to Tables in the sidebar. Here you define your floor plan by adding individual tables with:

  • Table name/number (e.g. "Table 1", "Window Booth", "Garden 3")
  • Minimum and maximum capacity — Sully uses these to suggest the best table for each party size

You can drag and drop tables to reorder them. When a booking comes in, you can assign it to a specific table from the booking detail view.

5. Embed the Booking Widget on Your Website

This is where the magic happens. Go to Settings → Widgets and you'll find a small snippet of code. Copy and paste it into your existing website's HTML — it works with any website builder (WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or a custom site).

The widget shows your available time slots, lets guests pick a date and party size, and collects their details. It matches your brand colours too (see the widget customisation guide).

Alternatively, you can share your direct booking link (found on the same page) via social media, Google Business, or email.

6. Start Accepting Bookings

That's it — you're live! When a guest makes a booking:

  • They receive an instant confirmation email
  • The booking appears on your Dashboard, Calendar, and List views
  • You can confirm, modify, or cancel from any view
  • You'll get a notification in the app bell icon

You can also create bookings manually using the + New Booking button — perfect for phone or walk-in reservations.

7. Explore More Features

Once you're up and running, check out these to get the most from Sully:

  • Analytics & Reports — track booking trends, peak times, and revenue
  • Guest Messaging — reply to guests directly via email from the booking detail
  • Custom Fields — collect dietary requirements, special occasions, or any other info at booking time
  • Special Occasions — set modified hours or closures for holidays and events
