Managing Bookings and Tables

Once bookings start coming in, Sully gives you multiple ways to view, manage, and organise your reservations. Here's how to make the most of your booking management tools.

Viewing Your Bookings

Sully offers three views for your bookings, accessible from the left sidebar:

  • Dashboard — a quick overview showing today's bookings, the next 7 days, and key stats at a glance
  • Calendar — a visual calendar view where you can see bookings laid out by date. Click any date to see that day's reservations
  • List — a detailed table of all bookings with sorting and filtering options. Great for searching by guest name, date, or status

Booking Statuses

Every booking has a status that you can update as things progress:

  • Pending — the booking has just come in and hasn't been confirmed yet
  • Confirmed — you've confirmed the reservation (guests receive an email)
  • Seated — the guests have arrived and been seated
  • Completed — the meal is done and the table is free
  • Cancelled — the booking was cancelled (by you or the guest)
  • No-show — the guests didn't turn up

You can change a booking's status by clicking on it and using the status dropdown. This helps your team know exactly what's happening at every table.

Creating Manual Bookings

For phone or walk-in reservations, click the + New Booking button (top right of the Dashboard or List view). Fill in the guest name, phone/email, party size, date, and time slot. The booking is created instantly and the guest receives a confirmation email.

Table Management

Head to Tables in the sidebar to manage your floor plan. Here you can:

  • Add tables — give each one a name/number and set min/max capacity
  • Edit tables — update names or capacity as your layout changes
  • Delete tables — remove tables you no longer use
  • Reorder tables — drag and drop to arrange them in the order that makes sense for your restaurant

Assigning Tables to Bookings

When you open a booking's details, you'll see a Table Assignment option. Click it to assign the booking to a specific table. Sully suggests tables based on the party size, but you can override this and pick any table.

This is especially useful during busy services — you can see at a glance which tables are assigned, which are free, and plan your seating accordingly.

Modifying and Cancelling Bookings

To change a booking's details (date, time, party size, or notes), click on the booking from any view and edit the fields you need. Changes are saved automatically and the guest is notified if their time or date changes.

To cancel, change the status to Cancelled. The guest receives a cancellation email. You can add a note explaining the reason if you like.

Using the Schedule View

The Schedule view (in the sidebar) gives you a timeline-style view of your day's bookings. This is particularly useful for seeing how bookings overlap, identifying gaps, and managing table turns during busy services.

Tip for busy services

Use the Schedule view during service and the List view for admin. Calendar is best for planning ahead and spotting quiet nights where you might want to run a promotion.
